Columbia Concert Band Board
Meeting Minutes –Mar. 29,
2004
The meeting began at 9:20 PM.
President’s
report:
Roger was out of town, so Maurice
presided over the meeting.
Treasurer’s
report:
Maurice distributed copies of the Treasurer’s
Report. For the period dated
March 1, 2004 to March 29,
2004 we had a total income of
$440.00 which was a result of a
jazz band gig at Patuxent Wildlife and donations for the jazz band CDs. Our total expenses were $1751.90 for the
month, leaving a checkbook balance of $3682.67 and a savings balance of
$8256.57.
Maurice reviewed the necessary
committees for Community Band Day and will distribute a sign up sheet at the
next rehearsal for members to volunteer for shifts. Riley has already volunteered to be a
greeter.
We will need canopies for shade if
anyone has them.
Old Business:
We have the music from Mr. Houlik for
our June concert. Since he
has sent us the originals, we will have section leaders make copies for
all of the players in each section and return the originals to Mike at the next
rehearsal. We cannot risk losing
any of these pieces.
New Business:
We have a signed contract for HCC to play the
graduation. The date is
Friday, May 21, 2004 at 4:00 PM. Call time would be around 3:30 PM. They
have agreed to pay us $700.00 for our participation. As always many of us must leave
work early to play. Please check
your schedules and see what you can arrange so that we have a decent showing of
band members.
