info@columbiaband.org Columbia Concert Band Winter Concert Columbia, Maryland, November 1, 2004 — The Columbia Concert Band will be performing their annual Winter concert, which will feature classic holiday music plus a few surprises. Selections include “English Folk Song Suite and Sea Songs” by Ralph Vaughn Williams, “Celtic Carol” by Robert Smith and “Fantasy on a Bell Carol” by Edward Madden. In “Dialogues”, Michael Sweeney presents a duet between percussion and winds, and Michael Colgrass’ “Old Churches” is music impressionism at its best. An international flair rounds out the concert in “Latin Carnivale”, a Victor Lopez arrangement of Latin pop tunes. The concert will be on Sunday, December 12th at 3:00 p.m. at River Hill High School, 12101 Rt. 108, in Clarksville, MD. Admission is free and no tickets are required. The Columbia Concert Band is a non-profit community band that has been performing for local communities since 1983.
