James Houlik, Tenor Saxophone Virtuoso, to Perform with the Columbia Concert Band Columbia, Maryland, April 26, 2004--Tenor saxophone virtuoso James Houlik will appear in concert with the Columbia Concert Band under the direction of Mr. Michael Blackman. Mr. Houlik will be the featured soloist performing Jigsaw for Tenor Saxophone and Band (Stamp) and Ballade and Allegro for Tenor Saxophone and Band (Follas). The concert will be held on Sunday, June 6th at the Atholton High School Auditorium, 6520 Freetown Road, Columbia, Maryland. The concert begins at 3:00 p.m and is open to the public. Admission is free and no tickets are required. This performance is sponsored by Columbia Concert Band, Music & Arts Center, and Conn-Selmer, Inc. James Houlik is the leading performer on his instrument in the world. His pioneering efforts on behalf of the tenor saxophone have resulted in the composition of more than seventy new concert works for the instrument and important performances around the world.
